Circumcision is the alteration or mutilation of female/male genitalia, and is a worldwide phenomenon.
"There is one aspect of this procedure on helpless children that is not touched upon at all. While it is true that this procedure is sexual abuse, the long term trauma created by this procedure affects the newborns spiritual being and connection to the divine. Our sexuality is our spirituality and vice versa, and this extremely sensitive organ is hardwired directly into our spiritual network, which is to say connects us to the divine. Sexual intercourse is not exclusively about procreation as religion would have you believe. Procreation would only need to be done once in a awhile, which leaves a greater aspect that has been hidden in fear, shame, and guilt, not to mention punishment. Sex also serves to heal the body, mind, and one's spirit. Sex is a spiritual function to connect us with the divine. If certain individuals do not want you to have your own direct connection to the divine, then this connection needs to be damaged or disconnected. The easiest way to do this is when a human being (embodied soul), is first born or still a child. When this organ is mutilated, for whatever intellectual reasons given, it sends a horrible shock throughout the entire body physically via the sexual hardwiring, on feeling/emotional level, a physiological level, a mental level, and higher levels of our spiritual connections; our life force. These levels are all interconnected and when they are compromised at this level of trauma, it creates an energetic fracture in our divine connection to our spiritual selves and spirit. There is no other intellectual reason for this procedure that is valid, other than to fracture and separate a child from its own inner divine connection. We would never conceive of forcing an adult by strapping them down, removing their clothing, and then without their permission, begin to cut away at their highly sensitive sexual organs. Yet adults can conceive the idea that this is acceptable. This sort of thinking is a form of insanity, which stems from adults who themselves are disconnected from their bodies and dysfunctional to the point of harming another. This procedure has roots going deep into religion and its practices of breaking the spiritual connections within. Whether we like it or not, believe it or not, their is no separation of church and state, for individuals bring their personal religious biases to their jobs every day; Patriarchy at its best."

To Mutilate in the Name of Jehovah or Allah: Legitimization of Male and Female Circumcision
- By Sami A. ALDEEB ABU-SAHLIEH Excerpts:
"I was seven years old when I was excised. I recall the stories from women of my village who spoke of this operation as if their whole life had stopped there and then. The atrocity of their descriptions and at the same time a feeling of inescapable doom had triggered such a panic in me that when the terror-laden day came, I began to vomit. What happened then is still excruciatingly burning my flesh, so much so that I often wake up in the middle of the night screaming and calling for my mother 23.Generally the victim is mutilated without anaesthesia, lying on her back, legs kept wide apart by helpers or by one only lying under the young girl, her ankles being hooked in the helper's feet. To immobilize a 7 years old, you sometimes need the help of 5 persons to restrain her head, arms and legs. When the girl is a toddler, one assistant alone can manage body and thighs at the same time, while holding her in a sitting position."
