January 2012

2012 has arrived and the presence presents itself as a present to each and every one of us if we could but only let go enough to receive the light of illumination to show us how far off the mark each of us has gone within the darkness of the mind's incessant thinking.

I was awakened freshly into the New Year around 2am this morning to a man and woman upstairs yelling at each other over some alluded jealousy spat, which went on for an hour or so. The episode gave me much to contemplate laying there about my own parents and their deluded arguments over perceived wrongs and rights pertaining to their own wounds. The delusions were not there's alone, as the many families in our community and elsewhere in the world are inundated with the same insanity born of reason.

Love doesn't need a reason to express itself, other than the desire to BE in the stream of non-judgment. This is the gift that Mother and Father give to us in their divine grace. During one of my communions with them, I was able to realize they do not judge anything; period. To do so would bring an end to unconditional love and so they allow all things as they arise in the mind. Would we let go of the mind and enter the realm of the heart, we would become acquainted with how we have been deceived out of our authenticity. The other realization I came to understand over time is they are always with us, experiencing what we experience. Our pain and suffering is their pain and suffering. They live through us but do not control us. They offer assistance in the form of guidance, which we are free to accept or ignore based on our level of awareness. Fear on the other hand, is a realm that has closed itself off to higher states of consciousness, hence the reason why insanity exists in its various forms here on planet Earth. Those who live in the realm of fear have chosen to close the door on the Divine by choice, as they have chosen to be deluded by desire, greed, and grandiosity.

Fear is the compartmentalization of consciousness for the sake of distorting Divine reality. Fear can only arise within the reasoning mind and can only do so when the upper chakras are powered down through domestication, brainwashing, and indoctrination. Anger, hatred, violence, intimidation, coercion, manipulation, guilt, and shame all are integral components of what I call dysfunction. The complexities of these processes involve extensive programs designed to distort and short circuit one's awareness. Thinking and believing are the mental software programs that play a significant role in this dumbing/numbing down process; to not BE is insanity.

Here's a thoughtful article from Krishnamurti:

Krishnamurti: “It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.”

"Only within yourself exists that other reality for which you long. I can give you nothing that has not already its being within yourself. I can throw open to you no picture gallery but your own soul." - Herman Hesse, Steppenwolf

"This present arising is creativity, and in this sense, everything is creativity. The whole thing is in a constant process of creation. Everything is being created every second, every split second. You are being created; so is everything. We have been lulled into the conventional belief that we come from the past--from our father and mother, from childhood experiences, and from our history. Our mind uses this story so that we don't look at the issue of our origin more directly. The mind is habituated to think that the past is where everything comes from. But that is illogical because the past actually doesn't exist. It's completely illogical and irrational to think that you came from the past, from your mother and father. Right at this moment, you are not coming from them; you're coming from something right here, right now, in the present. What is giving you existence can't be something that does not exist, like the past. If you recognize what it is that you are coming from right at this second, you will recognize your true nature and the nature of everything. When you realize that, then you realize that you are not in the world. It's actually like the world is not you. If you recognize your true nature that is constantly creating what you see, then you realize that all that you see is in that true nature; that everything you see--the whole world, is in you, not the other way around. This process of creativity is seen then as obvious and normal--there is nothing special about it. It is happening all the time; it is happening to everyone and to everything at every second. You don't see it because you are accustomed to thinking that you are a body that continues in time." - A. A. Almaas

Something I wrote on Facebook in response to a news article:

By definition, those in government who are anti-democratic, who keep billions of secrets, who create legal laws designed to benefit the rich, who craft wars through various agencies to ensure strategic positioning for resources and markets, killing and maiming hundreds of thousands, training dictatorship army personnel how to torture, giving away military weapons that causes destruction of democratic seeking people in other countries, who manipulate poor countries into taking bank loans that eventually force them into enslavement, and creates trade pacts that benefit only the rich in my mind is rooted in terrorism. Corporate terrorism is conveniently overlooked because the supreme court has dictated corporations are people. We have our own set of dictatorships masquerading as fraudulent citizens seeking to better society, when in fact all they do is better their own pockets and egos. I would suggest sociopaths are an infestation in the halls of governance, having lost any sort of love and compassion for their fellow human beings.

FBI Says Activists Who Investigate Factory Farms Can Be Prosecuted as Terrorists

This is an example of using a corporation as a front to manipulate government structures to shield a lack of honesty and integrity, not to mention environmental degradation, pollution, along with inhumane practices. Behind these corporate fronts are predators who manage them and predatory shareholders who are forever pushing for more profits at the expense of authenticity for all concerned. The bottom line for them is profits. The bottom line is indicative of how low they have stooped and the dysfunction they have perpetuated upon others and the Earth.

More insanity in the news:

This is what corrupt power does in the hands of insane individuals who seek to dominate and control. They don't care who they hurt, imprison, torture, kill, maim, or rip off. This is not democratic even though they will tell you so. The words these sort of people speak are empty of peace, empathy, compassion, love, honesty, and integrity. They lie, distort, cheat, steal, manipulate, coerce, and weave deception forcing others into their game of dysfunction. It's called fear and while they may not see it that way, it is nothing more than their own fear; fear of not getting what they want; fear of not being good enough; fear of being found out; fear of facing their own self-loathing and self-hatred.

Love has no need of any of this dysfunction. They are not loving people and one only need look at their actions or lack there of. People who love and respect themselves also love and respect others.

The many have been duped into the "idea" that they are free, but your freedom is dependent on obedience to their rules, their markets, their goods, their "ideas." As long as you keep on buying "stuff" keep on obeying their messages of fear, guilt, and shame, which are the shackles of your soul, then you are free; Free to follow the boundaries of insanity in the boxes of politics, religion, intellectualism, cultural norms, stereotypes, phobias, and a host of stifling attitudes, prejudices, anxieties, etc. All of them are lies designed to stifle awareness at any cost. Sociopaths don't care who they hurt, they don't care about anyone except their own delusions. And their delusions are indicative of the depths of their own pain and suffering. How they treat others is how they treat their own authentic selves within themselves.

One cannot get arrested for not buying "stuff", nor can one get arrested for not watching mass media, mass cinema. One cannot get arrested for buying organic food, using alternative medicine, or being loving and compassionate. One cannot be arrested for refusing to be prejudiced, racist, homophobic, or ageist. One cannot be arrested for not buying into gender stereotypes or political/religious ideologies. One cannot be arrested for choosing to listen to one's own authentic self and its creative forces that offer everyone the ability to create in harmony with love and compassion in heart/mind behind all ideas for the betterment of all Beings. To cause pain and suffering in others for the sake of one's own delusion is to step out of line with one's honesty and integrity. The choice is always given by Mother and Father to either be in alignment with love and compassion or out of alignment with fear; your choice.

The problem with this idea of choice is the many have no idea they are unable to make a choice, so badly distorted is reality that they are mere pawns in a game of vast manipulation. The distortion and manipulation occurs in the mind, the enculturated, trained, domesticated mind that has been indoctrinated through intricate processes to ensure your blind obedience; your adherence to the stifling rules of conformity; your belief in these rules as absolute truth are mandatory for participation in the game that you cannot win. (Opting out of the game gives you your authentic self back).

We learn to set aside our authentic self as children to learn the rules of culture that are forced upon us. In his book, "Playing by Heart," O. Fred Donaldson describes this process which he calls the Duchess' Game:

The Duchess' Game is a way of being and acting based on the Duchess's Law from Alice in Wonderland which states, "the more there is of mine, the less there is of yours." The Duchess's Game is an antagonistic encounter in which we succeed by defeating an opponent. This "game" can be cynically expressed in a slightly different manner as The Three Laws of Thermodynamics quoted by Dennis Overbye:

             1. You can't win.

            2. You can't break even.

            3. You can't get out of the game.

In this zero-sum game, everything including life itself can be won, lost, possessed and awarded. It can be played anywhere and anytime, with balls, guns, and words and on sports fields, corporate boardrooms, political arenas, international battlefields, family living rooms, freeways, schoolrooms and playgrounds.

The Duchess's Game is a shared value system between people who need a symbolically and externally constituted sense of self worth-contest-and a society, which by granting it to them, reduces them to playthings. The game is sustained by a socio-economic, educational, and political philosophy, organized groups and a code of contest ethics. This adversary system is accepted, in part, because it has been an integral part of society for a very long time. So long, in fact, that people both as individuals and as groups cannot conceive of any other way of interacting. Throughout our history we have used one form of contest such as the courts to try to remedy the failures of another contest system, such as elections. We fundamentally believe in the efficacy of contests to cure social, economic and educational problems. But one form of cancer does not cure another; instead the patient now has two forms of cancer.

Additional excerpts from Playing By Heart:

"If everybody lives roughly the same lies about the same things, there is no one to call them liars: they jointly establish their own sanity and call themselves normal." - Ernest Becker (quote from Playing By Heart - O. Fred Donaldson)

"It is no small irony that the fear of differences, which is absent in the play mind, is taken as the basic axiom of the contest mind. Only after becoming split within ourselves do we have a reason to enter the external forms of the Game, which are nothing more than manifestations of our propensity to see ourselves as essentially separate entities. Nothing outside of ourselves is attacking us, but from the viewpoint of the split, fearful self, everything and everyone is a potential adversary. Fear engulfs the mind so that the individual sees the world divided as the culture decrees that one should. Contestants are manufactured by a false industry of heroes and hero-worshipers, trinkets, trophies and tickets. As contestants, players are mercenaries. The tragedy is that we only feel safe by believing in fear.

Contestants define people in terms of their categories. As players of the game we can carry out actions against other players that would be otherwise unthinkable. What happens to "them" doesn't matter. The whole person is sacrificed to further the games. contests are agglomerations of splinter individuals obliged to shun real human interaction, not because they are ethically callous, but simply because thy have no personal sense of meaning.

Rarely has a contest been undertaken without some justifications couched in sustaining myths. Our missiles are defensive; theirs are offensive. Their attacks are unprovoked, ours are in defense of our rightful privileges and possessions. The moral justifications for competition--that it builds character, teaches teamwork, instills discipline, loyalty, decency, friendship, honor, and "fair play" are openly avowed, assiduously cultivated and zealously carried out, in all areas of our lives. It is common for adults to feel that they Game is what brings out the best in them, without it they would not be able to excel. Our education, sports, political and business systems are based upon the idea that competition is our primary motivation for success and excellence." O. Fred Donaldson

"Fairness is esteemed because it enables us to maintain an illusion. In our unremitting efforts to win, we are easily led to create fantasy worlds of fairness remote from direct awareness of others pain. There is a vicious circle here: Ideas about fairness are derived from a failure to be kind. Failing to achieve kindness, we settle for fairness. thinking that fairness is kindness, we exhibit fairness, which obstructs our attempts at kindness by encouraging egocentricity characteristic of personal and socio-cultural games and competition." - O. Fred Donaldson

O. Fred Donaldson's book can be purchased on his website:

I am strongly suggesting there is greater power in opting out of the game, because the game you participate in takes your authentic power away by being obedient to those who are not authentic, which requires you to act in unauthentic ways rooted in fear, which is secondary to love and compassion. Love and compassion are more powerful than fear. Authenticity gives one strength and courage to BE loving and compassion to one's self and others. An excellent book relating this story is Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach.

One cannot love another until they have truly loved themselves. The many have deluded themselves into "thinking" they love themselves, but how can one love something that is rooted in unauthenticity; rooted in "thinking?" Thinking does not make one lovable, no matter how much you might "believe" so. Nothing outside of yourself makes you lovable. Love is what you are at your core; it requires no action, no words, no thoughts, no beliefs. You are who you are in authentic communion with the Divine. Mother and Father enlighten you with the flow of love and compassion through your authentic Being. Your acceptance of their ongoing flow of grace through your Being is your only response-ability; denying their flow, your flow is a dis-grace. To turn away from their light is to turn away from your authentic existence. To believe or not to believe is your ongoing responsibility out of the nightmare of insanity (thinking).

People think they have to think, they think it is essential in decision making, but is it really? No! One can look at the facts, ensuring that all the facts are being presented, and decide. But to think about those facts ad nauseum regularly is insanity. The need to second guess, doubt, worry are all rooted in the insanity of thinking designed to imprison your authentic expression. What the many call "thinking" is nothing more than obsessive-compulsive thinking to align one to the parameters of the cultural software of obedience. The need to think in order to justify, condemn, judge, ridicule, manipulate, coerce, connive, and cause harm is rooted in insanity. The roots of self-loathing and self-hatred arise in this modality of nonsense and jibber. Judging oneself and another is absolute insanity, as there is nothing worthy of judgment whatsoever; not even one small iota. Judgments serve only one purpose and that is to ensure you abandon the truth of your authentic existence in the presence of now. Don't judge and you will find the doorway out of the room of fear that you inhabit (in habit). Habits are blinding; they are the straight jackets of the mind, chaining thoughts together that create dysfunctional belief systems. Those chains have an electromagnetic charge holding them together freezing them together like ice in darkness that prevents one from realizing the predicament of paralysis.

Love is the one thing that melts the energetic ice of fear to free one from the madness of going against one's authentic self. Accepting your authentic nature brings warmth into your Being, freeing you from the fear, guilt, and shame that has boxed you into the fences of conformity. Our Divine parents created diversity in Nature as a reflection to remind us of our own Divine diversity in Being. Why do you think Nature is being destroyed and homogenized into the polluted and convoluted version those insane are striving to achieve? Living out of harmony with one's own nature causes one to live out of balance with Nature out there. Mother and Father are Nature, are Earth, are the Cosmos, are all that you experience out there; yet their true expression are more so within. This in no way demeans the outer world, for its existence is an outflow from within. How it manifests itself is indicative of whether love or fear is present. We are embodied in their Nature, are not separate from their Nature other than through being conned into "thinking" it so.

We are not separate from anything, least of all our own authentic self. The idea of separateness is a joke of great distortion, designed to imprison you in darkness so that some other being lost in delusion can play the lesser role of god or goddess (note the use of lower case letters). The only power the deluded have is to force you into thinking it so. Violence is their only weapon, which is why it is still in vogue, because it is indicative to the level they have lowered themselves in order to achieve their grandiosity of self-importance. One who has to use violence to achieve their desires is truly impoverished and no amount of money, glamour, prestige, or power will ever enrich their Being. They are lost in a delusion of vast disgrace.

Violence is any act or lack there of that goes against authentic Being. Judgments are a violation, as they violate the truth of authentic Being, love and compassion. Judgments are violations that negate the truth of Being, distort the truth, and create an energetic field of fear that warps one's perception of authentic Being. Being forced as children to go against the energetic field of authentic Being is a sado-masochistic act designed to traumatize, destabilize, and destroy one's connection to the Divine. Once broken, just like animals being domesticated, one is no longer connected, because their attention is focused on ensuring pain and suffering are alleviated based on the rules of the game of conforming to dysfunction. At this point the two alternatives are being one who inflicts pain on others or who submits to pain, depending on various dynamics that arise in one's imprisonment. This distortion causes the heart center to atrophy, along with other higher functions.

Thinking is the cause of pain and suffering. It makes sense then that listening is the way out. What you "think" is your mind is nothing more than a compository of facts and figures woven into a story that you are expected to believe. It is like living your life from a book, rather than having a book, but also having the awareness to pay attention to life as it flows around you; rather than forming the life around you to the contents of the book. This is the distortion that exists causing all pain and suffering. Even more mystifying is how the many having graduated from childhood from having pain and suffering inflicted on them, who now inflict it upon themselves quite liberally. They have become the police who police their own imprisonment.

To Be or not to Be, that is the question!

When the pain and suffering becomes greater than the fear of change, then and only then will one change.

This fear of change is nothing more than a distorted lie that implies more pain and suffering if one changes. Common sense would dictate through awareness that change is required in order to alleviate pain and suffering. The Divine gives through full consciousness the creative impulse of love and compassion to bring an end to pain and suffering in all ways. The only thing in the way of experiencing this are clogged neural pathways of dysfunctional thought processes and patterns that are merely habitual in nature. Changing habitual patterns requires diligence of presence in order to be aware of the thought programs that are running unconsciously. Getting conscious is rooted in Being Present!

This act of presence is not going to arise sitting in front of the TV or going to a bar drinking oneself into oblivion or hanging out with other unconscious people. It is not going to materialize out of thin air, nor can it be bought at the local store. In general, academic, religious, corporate, and political institutions are not going to give this to you, nor want you to become aware of it. In general, those you call family, friends, and neighbors are not going to acquiesce to your stepping out of the box of conformity either. This is your response-ability, your path to the salvation of your authentic Being that has been waiting patiently for you to re-member your Divine existence. No one can give it to you, but you alone. People can point the way, but how do you know they aren't deluded as well? Your challenge is to begin the archaeological dig for your authentic Being.

The missing pieces you seek are all within in perfect harmony and alignment. It is the mind and the mind alone that has created the vast distortions causing your pain and suffering. If this were not so you would not be in pain and suffering. Be aware of those along the path who profess to be healers, as they often have agendas having nothing to do with love and compassion, let alone your freedom to BE. I know this to be true because I have met these sorts at various times along my own path with various teachers, healers, shamans, acupuncturists, friends, and such. Thankfully, I have remembered to listen to my own instincts, intuition, and higher guidance. If I can do it, then so can you, for we are all Beings from the same Divine Family. One can be deceived into "thinking" there isn't time or money and the journey home is effectively stopped before it even begins. The deception will always create a "reason" why one should not start the journey or stop the journey. The many are casualties to being deceived out of their authenticity, deceived back into pain and suffering like it were a comfy soft blanket, when in fact it is death wrapping and coiling itself around them tighter and tighter ceasing their existence from arising.

Remember this power that seeks to imprison you exists only through thinking. Paying attention is the greatest advice I can give, yet the most difficult thing to comprehend, let alone accomplish. Eventually you will see glimpses. Effort is required to overcome the mountain of passivity that was created to block your way. Climbing that mountain of deception is hard, but in the end at the top you will realize who and what you are, what you are capable of and how thoroughly rejuvenated you are in Being. The more you free yourself from the lethargy of conformity, the greater your ability to discern and find your way. Each has to begin to flex and work out muscles and abilities that have been atrophied over time from disuse. This in no way means they cannot be brought back to fullness, for they are merely waiting for your command to do so. Hesitation is a form of fear designed to sneak in some doubt to get you to start thinking again and stop any forward movement that would threaten the system of fear that inhabits your mind.

As long as you are not harming yourself or another, then what you choose to create is in your authentic interest.

Antonio Machado: Traveller, There Is No Path

Everything passes on and everything remains,
But our lot is to pass on,
To go on making paths,
Paths across the sea.

I never sought glory,
Nor to leave my song
In the memory of man;
I love those subtle worlds,
Weightless and graceful,
As bubbles of soap.

I like to watch as they paint themselves
In sunlight and scarlet, floating
Beneath the blue sky, trembling
Suddenly then popping…

I never sought glory.

Traveller, your footprints
Are the path and nothing more;
Traveller, there is no path,
The path is made by walking.

By walking the path is made
And when you look back
You'll see a road
Never to be trodden again.

Traveller, there is no path,
Only trails across the sea…

Some time past in that place
Where today the forests are dressed in barbs
A poet was heard to cry
"Traveller, there is no path,
The path is made by walking…"

Beat by beat, verse by verse…

The poet died far from home.
He lies beneath the dust of a neighbouring land.
As he walked away he was seen to weep.
"Traveller, there is no path,
The path is made by walking…"

Beat by beat, verse by verse…

When the goldfinch cannot sing,
When the poet is a pilgrim,
When prayer will do us no good.
"Traveller, there is no path,
The path is made by walking…"

Beat by beat, verse by verse.

(Translated by Asa Cusack)

An excerpt from Adyashanti's book The End of Your World:

“Buddha himself said that all dharmas are empty. The dharmas are the teachings. The dharmas are the very truths he was speaking. One of the truths he was speaking was that all of these dharmas, all these truths that he just told to his students, are all empty. The truth of who you are lies far beyond even the greatest dharmas, the greatest sutras, the greatest ideas that could ever be spoken or written down or read.

This is experienced inwardly as destruction. I often tell people to make no mistake about it—enlightenment is a destructive process. It has nothing to do with becoming better or being more or less happy. Enlightenment is the crumbling away of untruth. It’s seeing through the façade of pretense. It’s the complete eradication of everything we imagined to be true—from ourselves to the world.

In this process we discover that even the greatest inventions of the greatest minds in human history are but the dreams of children. We start to see that all the great philosophies and all the great philosophers are part of the dream. Awakening at the level of the mind is like pulling back the curtain, like Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz. She expects to see the Great Oz, but when the curtain is pulled back, it turns out that the Great Oz is a little man pulling levers. Seeing through the nature of mind is like this. It’s a radical thing. It’s unexpected when we see that everything that purports to be truth is actually part of the dream state and is holding the dream state together.

There is no such thing as an enlightened thought. It is quite a shock to our system to see this. In fact, most of us protect ourselves from seeing this truth. We say we want truth, but do we really? We say we want to know reality, but when it appears, it’s so different from what we thought. It doesn’t fit into our context; it doesn’t fit with our images. It’s something completely beyond them. It’s not just beyond them, it actually destroys our ability to see the world in the old way. It renders our world rubble.

When all is said and done, what we are left with is nothing. We are totally empty-handed, with nothing to grasp on to. As Jesus said, “The birds have their nests in the trees and the foxes have their holes in the ground, but the son of man has nowhere to rest his head.” There is no concept, no thought structure upon which you can rest.”

It's now 1:13 a.m. PST and I'm sitting here listening to Mindi Abair and her jazz tune Shine; beautiful jazz song for me anyway. And that's the point I'm writing about. We have been taught this idea, along with many other ideas, that have gotten jumbled around in the software drive called the human brain, and even that is an idea on many levels. I've been doing a lot of contemplation as well as meditation of late to a lot of realizations that are sinking in at a deeper level. Please realize that awareness is not a thinking process. Thoughts have no awareness in them.

Our awareness faculties are not actual hardware, nor are they physical matter. People want to know, but how can you know something conceptually when thoughts have no direct awareness. Everything we believe in are compilations of concept knowledge structures; that's the fancy name that academia has constructed so that all of us can have agreed upon terminology for the ease of communicating ideas; concepts. Thoughts are virtual renditions.
