Using Psychedelics Safely - If you are using drugs, then you should be aware of the levels that can be navigated. Most use them for "fun," but there is more to be aware of before hand, rather than when the experience gets larger than you expected or moves beyond what you thought you were in control of. I highly recommend reading "The Natural Mind: A new way of looking at drugs and higher consciousness" by Andrew Weil. A very informative and thought provoking book that calls into question a great deal of the government and media portrayal of drugs and a very frank discussion on consciousness. Our society is blind to the realization that alcohol, nicotine, sugar, and a host of others, are drugs in their own right. In Chinese medicine, the Chinese consider all foods medicine, which means foods are drugs. Food is an excellent feeling suppressor, and give the level of obesity in our culture these days, it says a lot. And even if you are not obese, food is still used to suppress feelings. This occurs when we certain feelings arise and we are uncomfortable with them or are just starting to become aware of them, when suddenly we have this strong craving to eat. Most of us eat when the craving arises, whether that be slight or intense. A good rule of thumb of knowing when you need to eat is when you have strong hunger pangs. You will be surprised as you watch for this, how often we crave food for suppression purposes. Eating food brings us comfort, but when used to suppress feelings it can lead to serious problems physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually; and by the way Chocolate is a drug.
